My archive contains generated song drafts exported at different points over the past few months. Some files share a title even though they contain different exports, and the filenames explain very little. My first step is preserving the originals and recording the purpose of every proposed revision. A phrase I used in my search was remove suno artifacts but that label does not prove a revision improved the recording. Would you use separate folders, a filename suffix, or a small spreadsheet to track those decisions? A format conversion should be easy to tell apart from a revision to the sound. For each file I can record the export date, source version, format, and reason for keeping it. I would rather maintain a small useful record than a complicated system I stop updating. How would you name these files so the original and the revision remain obvious next year?

For an introductory music session, I want students to compare a few generated excerpts. Students should describe what they hear before discussing the source or processing method. Neutral labels and matched playback levels seem essential for the exercise. The versions would share the same passage, avoiding differences in composition. A first listening pass could record when something distracts them, without explaining why. The group includes people with different listening experience, so technical vocabulary should be optional. I would collect individual notes before discussing them together, and let students replay the excerpt when they need to check whether their first impression holds up. I found a resource on ai audio artifact removal that might inform an optional later comparison. It has not been tested for this exercise, so I cannot claim a benefit. The rubric should allow a student to prefer an unchanged version. What listening prompts would help students describe differences without suggesting a winner?

Has anyone taught a practical lesson that compares lossless audio with compressed versions of the same source? I plan to use a short generated instrumental and keep its original export available to everyone. I would start with listening notes so that the image does not dictate their initial observations. I found mp3 to spectrogram as a possible reference while planning the visual part. The next step would compare export settings while keeping the passage and playback level consistent. I want to avoid teaching that every visible difference identifies a defect in the generated source. A worksheet could separate audible observations, export settings, and questions that remain unresolved. I would assess the quality of the explanation instead of asking students to improve the audio. Students would record the software used for each export so that their comparison can be repeated later. Which comparison mistakes should I explain before students begin this exercise?
